Learn About Dolphin Anatomy
A dolphin’s streamlined body helps it swim quickly through the water. Its dorsal fin helps keep balance, while the flippers are used for steering. Powerful tail flukes move up and down to push the dolphin forward. Dolphins also breathe through a blowhole on top of their heads instead of using their mouths.
